I joined the United States Army in 2000 and proudly served during the Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom combat campaigns. My responsibilities included route clearance, explosive ordnance disposal, IED defusing, and supporting civil affairs special operations.

While deployed in western Iraq, our platoon came under heavy fire. I was critically injured—an event that changed my life forever. Three days later, I awoke not on the battlefield, but at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, where I began the long road to recovery.

Following several months of rehabilitation, I made the difficult decision to transition out of the military. Determined to continue serving, I became a federal civilian with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), where I evaluated over $20 million in grants and government contracts. It was there I realized: I was sitting on the wrong side of the table.

That realization led to the founding of Black Fox in 2018. I launched the firm to offer project management services. Today, Black Fox delivers program management, IT support, software development, and emergency management solutions—and proudly manages over 30 active government contracts.
